Maoist Centre Chair urges party cadres, leaders, to contribute to promoting citizens’ rights

KATHMANDU – Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has urged the party leaders and cadres to engage in efforts to safeguard the citizens’ rights.
In his address to a programme organized at the party central office in Parisdanda to mark the 25th memorial day of martyrs Suresh Wagle ‘Basu’ and Bhimsen Pokhrel ‘Bairagi’ today, the leader said the people’s sacrifices for transformations be recognised and their rights be promoted.
According to the leader, the ‘people’s war’ launched by the party for changes in the country has been described as the ‘armed conflict’ in the Constitution. Its descriptive note has recognized the phenomenon as the ‘people’s war’.
He added that due recognition of the people’s sacrifices to the transformations has still waited in a federal democratic republic state. “It will be a real tribute to the martyrs provided that there is a resolution for the cause of the nation and the citizens,” the erstwhile Prime Minister said.
He said those who attained martyrdom including Rambriksha Yadav to ‘Basu’ to ‘Bairagi’ during the ‘people’s war’ had special contributions to the revolution.
The Maoist Centre Chair added that the party incurred a big loss following the martyrdom of ‘Basu’, a competent and extremely self-aware personality, a popular teacher with a high-profile responsibility in the party at that time.
