Amendment proposal on name and capital of State No. 5 registered

BUTWAL : Four Provincial Assembly members of the opposition Nepali Congress and Janata Samajwadi Party have registered the amendment motion on the proposal for the name and permanent capital of the Province No. 5.

NC’s Rama Aryal and Pushpa Tharuni, and Samajbadi’s Sahasram Yadav and Purmati Dhenga Magar registered the amendment motion over the proposed capital city of Province No. 5 tabled by Internal Affairs and Law Minister Kul Prasad KC.

The Provincial Government on Monday proposed Deukhuri of Dang district as the permanent headquarters of Province No 5 by naming it the Lumbini Province.

Aryal and Tharuni have demanded that the permanent capital of the State be named by incorporating the Nawalparasi, Kapilvastu, Palpa and Rupandehi districts.

Likewise, Yadav and Magar have proposed to name the Province as Tharuhat Abadh Magarat instead of Lumbini.
Voting on the issues is taking place in the Provincial Assembly today.
