KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has claimed that a rival faction led by Nepal Communist Party (NPC) Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is plotting against him.
During the cabinet meeting held on Thursday, Prime Minister Oli alleged the rival faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NPC) led by Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Senior Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal was a ploy against him at a party office in Paris Danda in Koteshwor.
He also warned that he will foil such conspiracy against him.
“Conspiracies are being hatched against me in Koteshwor. I am ready to foil such conspiracies,” a minister present in the meeting quoted Prime Minister Oli as saying.
“I am ready to face any motion of no-confidence. I urge you to be ready for that,” said Prime Minister Oli.
The Prime Minister’s remark comes in the wake of growing rifts in the ruling NCP. Earlier on Wednesday, Prachanda along with other leaders had held consultations with lawyers.
They had held legal consultations amid widespread speculation that Prime Minister Oli was preparing to introduce an ordinance to allow him to split the party.
The meeting also attended by NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shretha had discussed possible alternatives for Prime Minister Oli and steps that he may take.
