Addressing a gathering of All-Nepal Women Association affiliated to the party, he warned the stern protest including a general strike from January 29 against the decision of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to dissolve the House and go for the midterm election. He claimed that the decision to dissolve the House was tantamount to abolition of the federal democratic republic and the constitution. “The decision of Prime Minister Oli is not the dissolution of the House. In fact, he does not have that authority. What he has done is a dissolution of the constitution and the federal democratic republic,” said Prachanda. “So, there is no alternative to the protest. We should not delay that,” he added.
