NPC carrying out quarterly progress review of ministries  


Kathmandu- The National Planning Commission (NPC) has been conducting the quarterly review of various ministries. In this connection, the progress review of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, the Ministry of Forests and Environment, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Water Supply and Sanitation, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security was conducted on Tuesday, the second day of the review seminar.

The ministries had made their presentation on the occasion. The meeting was held virtually and chaired by NPC Vice Chairman Prof Dr Pushpa Raj Kandel.

In the meeting, Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture Yogendra Karki, Secretary at the Ministry of Forests and Environment Bishwonath Oli, Secretary at the Ministry of Water Supply Madhu Belbase, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism Kamal Prasad Bhattarai, Secretary at the Ministry of Industry Baikuntha Aryal and Secretary at the Ministry of Labour Toyam Raya had presented the first quarterly report of their respective ministries.

On the occasion, NPC Vice Chair Dr Kandel said the meeting has been organised with the objective of discussing on and analyzing the problems to be sorted out through the meeting of the National Development Problems Resolution Committee and preparing appropriate recommendation for addressing them, as well as of making necessary coordination and giving directives regarding topics related to monitoring and evaluation.

NPC Vice Chair Dr Kandel and members Dr Krishna Prasad Oli, Dr Dil Bahadur Gurung, Dr Usha Jha, Min Bahadur Shahi, Dr Ram Kumar Phuyal, Member-Secretary Kewal Prasad Bhandari, Finance Secretary Shishir Dhungana, Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office Khaga Raj Baral and concerned officials of the Auditor General, Ministry of Federal affairs and General Administration and the NPC, among other offices participated in the review seminar.

The review meeting started on December 7 and will conclude on December 11, NPC spokesman Min Bahadur Shahi said.
