Marasini and nine youths crowned with JCI outstanding award


KATHMANDU –  Journalist and freelance writer Govinda Marasini along with 9 youths were awarded by Junior Chamber International Nepal (JCI) ‘Outstanding Youth Award-2024’.

Marasini was awarded in the category of ‘Efforts made to increase the reputation of the country in the international arena’ as a contribution to the national and international arena through journalism and independent writing.

Marasini, who has been active in journalism for about a decades and a half, has been writing investigative articles in various national level magazines and journals, mainly on youth, tourism, social, art and contemporary issues. He has been awarded with various national level awards before. Every year, JCI has been awarding the Best Youth Award to the youths who have made the best contribution to the nation.

President Rabin Pokharel said- Nepal Jaycees, like every year, formed an award selection committee and selected the best young people recommended by various branches. Along with Marasini, cricket players Karan KC and Ruveena Chhetri, Kumar Singh for literature, Kavita Nepal active in the field of social justice, Vijay Baral, a famous artist of Purna Bahadur ko Sarangi, for artistry

Rahiv Sahiwala, who has progressed in the financial sector, Kapili Khanal in the field of science and technology and Saroj Shrestha in the field of music.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Minister of Koshi Province Hikma Kumar Karki and National President of Nepal Jaycees Pokharel awarded the awarded youth with certificates, cash prizes and medals at the opening ceremony of the 51st National Convention of JCI.
