In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami today, former President Bhandari said the Bada Dashain has enhanced mutual harmony and tolerance in Nepali society, expressing the belief that it would help consolidate the national unity. “The Bada Dashain has emotionally united the family, society and the nation itself because of the unique tradition of receiving tika and blessings from the elders and seniors as well of reuniting the family members scattered within the country and abroad,” she said. Noting that the the economic and social aspects of Bada Dashain which is marked as symbolizing the victory of truth over falsehood and justice over injustice were equally important, the former Head of State said Dashain has continued our sound cultural tradition as a festival of taking blessings along with tika and jamara from seniors amidst the gathering of all family members.
