Huawei hosted a webinar on “The Future of Mobile App Industry” for Institute of Engineering (IoE) students.


KATHMANDU – As part of its digital talent development ecosystem initiative, Huawei hosted a webinar on “The Future of Mobile App Industry” for Institute of Engineering (IoE) students.

The webinar was hosted by Huawei Technologies in collaboration with Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University on 26th October, 4.00 PM. The webinar marked the start of the collaboration between Huawei and IoE in an academic front. Speakers in the event included Associate Professor Dr. Basanta Joshi from IoE, CEO of Huawei Nepal, Mr. Zhang Xiaoxiang (William),Mr. Murali V, Associate Vice President of Huawei India, Mr. Abhishek, System Architect from Huawei India and Mr. Rebanta from Huawei India.

The webinar, moderated by Mr. Rebanta, was broadcasted live on Facebook which was witnessed by many aspiring students and faculty members from IoE. CEO of Huawei, Nepal, Mr. Zhang Xiaoxiang (William) spoke about the contribution of Huawei in Nepal and discussed Huawei’s plans totrain digital talent to accelerate Nepal’s digital economy.Dr. Basanta Joshi from IoE thanked Huawei for the collaboration and assured a long term collaboration with Huawei. He also urged students to make use of the webinar in the best way possible.

Mr.Murali V, Associate Vice-President, Huawei India then spoke about the Huawei Mobile Services, its features, registration process for aspiring developers,and Huawei community contribution possibilities among other things.

He also gave a clear picture about the HMS – 5 week foundation course offered by Huawei. The course is a free, instructor lead, training cum certification program offered by Huawei at no cost to enrich the skillset of students and to make them industry ready. He further explained the benefits of this program which could be undertaken by faculty members as well. “Students who complete the certification and training program shall get industry ready and industry relevant”, emphasized Mr. Murali.

Followed by that, Mr. Abhishek, System Architect explained the technical capabilities of HMS. He quickly hovered through the toolkits supported by HMS which included the Machine Learning Kit, Scan Kit, Location Kit etc. All these were supported by quick demos as well. At the end of it, he also explained how someone can migrate existing apps to the HMS through the plugins. Finally, the participants were requested to register and acquire the participation certificate.
