Interim order to not take action against the teacher

SURKHET : The Surkhet High Court has issued an interim order not to immediately implement the decision of the Gurans village municipality of Dailekh to take action against teachers and people’s representatives who teach their children in private schools.

The court has issued an interim order not to implement the decision immediately after hearing the writ petition filed against the decision of the village municipality to penalise the teachers for not allowing the children of the people’s representatives and community school teachers to study in private schools.

The court also ordered the village municipality to show cause to submit a written reply within 15 days. The village municipality had decided that teachers teaching in community schools would not be allowed to teach their children in private schools.

The victim had filed a writ petition in the Surkhet High Court on Tuesday after the municipality took action against 31 teachers and people’s representatives at the rate of Rs 10,000 each. Hearing the writ petition, the high court has ordered not to implement the decision.

After the government teachers and people’s representatives were fined Rs 10,000 each, six teachers, including Padma Bahadur Nepali, a joint secretary of the Nepal Teachers Federation Dailekh and a teacher of Krishna Mavic, had demanded the quashing of the decision. Senior Advocate Prem Dhwaj Shahi and Advocate Dambar Bahadur Shahi argued on behalf of the petitioner.
