COVID-19: 360 new cases confirmed  


Kathmandu-  A total of 360 new cases of COVID-19 including 87 in the Kathmandu Valley have been confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. The figure was from 6,622 PCR tests held at various laboratories in the country, said Dr Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population.

With this, the total caseload has reached 21,750 with 6,296 active cases. Likewise, 233 infected people have been discharged from various health institutions after recovery in the past 24 hours. Altogether 15,389 infected people have got over the disease so far.

Meanwhile, the death toll has hit 65 with the addition of five today, said Dr Gautam. Those who died in the past 24 hours are two men, both 45 years old, from Morang district, 65-year-old woman from Sarlahi district, 72-year-old woman from Dhanusha district and 42-year-old man from Saptari district.

The new infection cases in the Kathmandu Valley are 76 from Kathmandu district, 10 from Lalitpur and one from Bhaktapur. Dr Gautam urged all to observe high caution given dense settlements in Kathmandu Valley and lack of hospital beds and health workers.
