According to Dev Chandra Lal Karna, poor visibility triggered by thick fog from the early morning has hit the flight operations to and from the airport. Only one flight of Himalayan Airlines from Kunming in China has landed at the TIA today. All domestic and international flights have been either delayed or put on hold due to the bad weather. TIA’s General Manager Karna said that flights will be resumed after weather gets clear. According to Karna, visibility of 1,500 meters is required for international flights for landing while at least 1,600 meters of visibility is considered to be fair for domestic flights for take-off and landing. However, the visibility requirements may vary based on the type of aircrafts.
