The CPN (UML) boycotted the meeting, demanding formation of a parliamentarian probe committee over the issue involvement of unauthorized persons during budget making process for coming fiscal year 2022/23. Earlier, Chief Whip of the CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party, Bishal Bhattarai, had said they would not participate in the discussion and boycott it. The UML lawmakers protested by standing up from their respective seats at a time when Finance Minister was responding the queries raised by lawmakers regarding the Finance Ministry under the Appropriation Bill. The CPN (UML) has accused Finance Minister of manipulating tax rates in collusion with unauthorized people before presenting it to the parliament.
