Main governing NCP secretariat meeting discusses Dr KC hunger strike, govt’s political appointments

No discussion on cabinet reshuffle, says NCP spokesperson


KATHMANDU : The main governing Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has urged Dr Govinda Kc to stop his hunger strike at the secretariat meeting held on Tuesday.

Narayan Kaji Shrestha, NCP spokesperson, said that the government’s proposal to end the hunger strike was presented in the secretariat meeting.

“Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli presented the proposal requesting Dr KC to end his hunger strike. The government is ready to address his demands. We can settle all other issues he has raised after the coronavirus pandemic subsides,” said Shrestha.

According to NCP spokesperson Shrestha, the secretariat meeting also discussed the agenda that was already fixed, including the remaining works of party unification.

“The secretariat meeting also discussed the constitutional and political appointments, as well as about discussing other things on the agenda,” he said.

However, NCP Spokesperson Shrestha said that although the meeting did not discuss the issue of the cabinet reshuffle, it briefly discussed the recent appointments of ambassadors to two countries.

“There was not any discussion on cabinet reshuffle.Two party chairs might have done homework on this. They are still doing the homework,” he added.
