Prime Minister Oli rules out resignation amid growing internal rift in NCP

My resignation means sending country towards abyss, says PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has made it clear that he will not step down from his post.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Extension Building of Manmohan Center on Wednesday, he warned that his resignation will send the country toward an abyss.

“Rumors would make the rounds that I was resigning from the post. Is it ok for me to resign? You think. Not for me, but resigning from the post means sending the country toward an abyss. So, I am not going to resign,” he said.

He also said that he will work for the stability of the country.

“I hear that there is preparation to make me resign. But, it’s not going to be successful. I become the Prime Minister as per people’s support and needs,” he said. “You can work with full confidence. There were many attempts to topple the government. There is a tendency of criticizing anything the government does and causing instability. What can I do for them? We will have to work for stability,” Prime Minister Oli added.

His statement comes in the wake of growing calls for his resignation as Prime Minister amid rising intra party disputes.
