KATHMANDU – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is addressing the nation today. He will deliver his address at 2pm from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar, said Surya Thapa, the Prime Minister’s press advisor.
PM Oli will be relieved of his post from today following the Supreme Court’s order of mandamus appointing Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba to the post.
The Prime Minister is also moving out of his official residence today. Leader of the CPN (UML) parliamentary party, Oli, was appointed to the post of Prime Minister on February 15, 2018. With this, he completes three years and four months in the post of the Executive Chief.
The UML standing committee meeting scheduled for today has also been put off as the Prime Minister is to address the nation this afternoon. UML Office Secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang said the meeting called for 1pm today has been postponed.
Meantime, the UML dispute resolution taskforce has submitted the points of agreements it reached to the party senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal. The agreement document was handed to party chairperson Oli on Monday.
Leader Nepal has already informed that he has dissociated from the opposition alliance for taking ahead the party unity.
