M.S Dhoni announces his retirement through an instagram post.

New Delhi- The former World Cup-winning captain of India, M.S Dhoni, announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket on Saturday.

The retirement announcement came through an emotional instagram post by the 39 year old former captain that  read “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired” along with the iconic ‘pal do pal a saath’ playing in the background.

Dhoni was seen reuniting in Chennai with his CSK team members for the CSK training camp in pictures earlier this week and is expected to play in the upcoming IPL13 edition 2020 to be held in the UAE, which commends on September 19.

Ever since India’s semi-final exit in the ODI World Cup last July, the former captain has been on a sabbatical and has constantly refused to engage in talks about what he would be doing in future saying he’d engage with them only after January 2020. “January tak mat pooch (don’t ask me until January)”, the captain said at an event in Mumbai earlier.

The 39 year old Jharkhand born cricketer, batsman-wicket keeper has brought India to a win in all major ICC tournaments (the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy).

He has represented the country in 350 ODIs, 90 Tests and 98 T20 Internationals.
