KATHMANDU : Local levels in Kailali have begun preparing to resume teaching and learning activities in schools that have remained closed since the past six months following the outbreak of the coronavirus.
The preparation has begun in accordance with the Student Learning Facilitation Guidelines of 2077 introduced by the government. Accordingly, school enrollment has begun from September 17.
Meanwhile, institutional and private schools in Tikapur municipality area have begun enrollment and the distribution of textbooks by observing prescribed health protocol. The process has begun to resume teaching and learning activities through online, offline and remote learning methods in Tikapur, said chief of the Tikapur municipality education section, Daman Singh Chaudhary.
However, the situation is still not in control enough to hold classes in-person. Although the government has suggested alternative education, including radio classes, it is difficult as not all schools have access to internet services.
Around 45,000 students are studying in 34 community and 40 private and institutional schools in the Tikapur municipality.
