गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Sports ∕ CAN office-bearers and members in Chitwan for board meeting Sports CAN office-bearers and members in Chitwan for board meeting KathmanduPati September 22, 2020 CHITWAN: A regular meeting of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is taking place in Bharatpur, Chitwan today. The in person meeting is taking place for the first time since the coronavirus caused lockdown was eased. CAN chair Chatur Bahadur Chand shared that the meeting was set to be held at the Bharatpur Garden Resort at 10 am this morning. Office-bearers and members of the Association have already arrived in Chitwan from different districts for the meeting. Chair Chand told the media that the meeting was called to chart out future strategies for cricket. The meeting has been organized in Chitwan so that it would be convenient for all office-bearers from across the country to participate. A majority of the 19-member board of the CAN are from outside Kathmandu. The meeting will dwell on issues related to contracts that need to be signed by the cricketers for all of this year’s events. Chand informed that the meeting would review the past and present situation of the cricket sector and also discuss matters concerning Nepal’s participation in national and international tournaments. The meeting is also set to endorse economic activities and touch on future strategies for the development of cricket as a sport in the country, Chair Chand added. The CAN has made plans to organize its annual general meeting by October 16. Earlier, there had been confusion on convening the board meeting due to the prevalence of the coronavirus pandemic.
