KATHMANDU- The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoFA) has mobilized 13 monitoring teams in the Kathmandu valley for the strict enforcement of the odd-even number plate rule in vehicles.
Issuing a statement on Thursday, the Home Ministry said that the mobilization of the monitoring teams is aimed at effective implementation of its earlier directives including the odd-even number plate rule, social distancing and use of face masks.
By mobilizing the monitoring team, the Home Ministry has intensified the monitoring of those rules as well as action against those who violate the health safety rules imposed by the government to combat COVID-19.
According to the statement, the Home Ministry has mobilized five teams in Kathmandu district and four teams each in Bhatkapur and Lalitpur districts.
Meanwhile, the police have taken under control 419,538 people violating the rule that requires the public to wear face masks. Among them, 354,824 have been reminded of the importance of wearing face masks during the pandemic while 39,507 were distributed face masks.
Likewise, 25,208 people caught violating the face mask rule were fined, according to the Home Ministry data.
