As a rival faction led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal has also laid a claim over the party and sun as the election symbol, Prime Minister Oli-led NCP is also reaching to the Election Commission to demand the legal recognition of the NCP and the election symbol. Earlier on Monday, Prachanda-led faction had submitted the updated details of the party as sought by the Election Commission. The Election Commission is yet to give its final decision on which faction of the NCP represents the legitimate NCP. NCP leader Subhash Chandra Nembwang claims that the party led by Prime Minister Oli will be recognized as the legitimate NCP and will be provided the sun as the election symbol. The decision of Prime Minister Oli to dissolve the House of Representatives on DEcember 20 has left the ruling NCP on the verge of a split with two factions claiming that the party they lead represents the legitimate NCP.
