गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ 3,300 km of roads to be repaired Nepal 3,300 km of roads to be repaired KathmanduPati November 27, 2020 KATHMANDU – The Department of Roads will carry out works related to the periodic maintenance of 3,300 km of roads of major highways across the nation. The roads will be repaired with financial support from the World Bank. According to the Department, an agreement has been signed to complete repair and maintenance works within the next five years. Deputy Director General of the Department Bhimarjun Adhikari said that roads where there is high vehicular movement will be repaired. He further said that roads which were constructed a few years ago and need to be repaired will be prioritized over roads to be reinstated after complete damage. The roads will be repaired in a different way as compared to the repair and maintenance work being carried out by the Road Board Nepal annually. Generally, roads should be repaired within five to six years of construction. The roads will be repaired as many have not been repaired since several years. The roads going to be repaired are Muglin-Nagdhunga and Kamala-Dhalkebar, among others. The roads will be repaired within 2082 with an investment of around Rs 8 billion.
